These homeowners had an existing pool and pergola and wanted to build something that felt more in line with a resort-style layout.

You can see the two arches on the existing two-story patio cover in the before picture. We removed the middle arch to provide a better view of the backyard from the family room as it extends out into the new free-standing patio cover.

The patio cover is a sloped steel frame with a standing seam metal roof. The underside of the patio cover features pre-stain tongue and groove pine finish. The installed heaters and screens allow year-round comfort and accessibility to the patio. We welded the cooking area on-site with stacked stone and a granite top. Our client selected a hibachi, grill, smoker, and side burners for cooking—all the bells and whistles to complete this outdoor kitchen.

Behind the cooking areas, we installed a cedar sliding gate for our client to open while the grill and smoker are in use and to close for privacy during the evenings and shade from the west setting sun.
