These clients needed shade. Without an existing patio cover, they had no way to enjoy their backyard because of the west setting sun. We added a modern steel pergola, cedar slats and a heavy duty cover on top from Regal Plastics to allow sun and light to penetrate but keep the rain away.

The concrete is a simple broom finish concrete with color added and sealed to give a clean look. The cooking area has stacked stone panels and a granite waterfall edge to complete the modern look. The privacy wall behind gives shade in the late afternoons and evenings so they can enjoy dinner outside. Beyond the patio we added concrete pads a gas fire pit with artificial turf added to give the kids a space to play.
